“I think we in the scientific community have made a mistake by allowing the Term ‘Global Warming’ to capture the podium, the platform, the title of this problem. Global Warming is a misnomer, because it implies something that is gradual, something that is uniform, something that is quite possible benign. What we are experiencing is none of these things. It is certainly not uniform. It is rapid compared to the pace at which social systems and environmental systems can adjust. It is certainly not benign.
